Last summer I finally went for that skydiving jump over the high desert. Sitting in the plane, knees shaking a bit, then bam we leap out. Freefall hits and it's pure rush, wind everywhere, till the chute opens up and I'm just floating there staring at all the sand dunes and mountains around Hesperia. Felt on top of the damn world. That's my vibe, always after new trails to hike, hole-in-the-wall spots for tacos that surprise you, or whatever wild thing pops up next. Keeps life from getting boring out here.
